Wareham, Swanage and Dorchester ran cross country today in PE.

 

"Cross country is a sport that is all about fitness and stamina, two elements which can have a positive impact on a child’s cognitive function outside of PE." (Mokgothu, 2007).

 

Across the three classes, we ran a total of 208.8miles - the equivalent of nearly 8 marathons.  Amazing achievements

 

Dorchester - Class Total: 80.2 miles. Top Boy: William (27)        Top Girl: Libby (20)

                     Excellent effort to: Jack(25) Flynn, Jaq & Jake (24)  Euan (18)

 

Wareham - Class Total: 64.4 miles.  Top Boy: Dan & Olle (23)    Top Girl: Kacey (15)

                   Excellent effort to: Tyler (22)  and Rhianna (14)

 

Swanage - Class Total: 64.2 miles.  Top Boy: Issac (16)      Top Girl: Veasna (18)

                  Excellent effort to: Sophie & Libby (16)

It was a normal day, until Mrs Maslin came in and told us something mysterious had been found on the field and it was very disturbing! “Do any of you know anything about this?” The room fell silent, (for the first time in years) the children were shaking their heads!

Spring 2018 Newsletter - 5 January 2018

Like Clockwork warm up game & Seated Volleyball - one of this weeks PE lessons.

We've been out in the community carol singing. We sung at The Tank Museum, The D'urberville Center in Wool and Grassington House in Dorchester.

We've come to the end of our Mayan Topic and tasted Mayan inspired food and Hot Chocolate with chilli!

In Science we lit up our own our Christmas Trees.

Harvest Cafe and Year 5/6 Chocolate Sale - with help from the School Council

Chocolate Making for Harvest Cafe - Year 5/6 designed, made and produced their own chocolates, complete with designer packaging - selling out in record time. Over £50 was raised and the profits are going to be spent on buying food to donate to the Harvest Festival food bank.
