Bovington Primary School Sport Quality Mark

17th June 2015

Youth Sports Trust Silver Quality Mark

We are delighted to announce that Bovington Primary School has been awarded the Youth Sports Trust Silver Quality Mark for Physical Education.

The Youth Sport Trust is an independent charity devoted to changing young people’s lives through sport. Established in 1994, they are passionate about helping all young people to achieve their full potential in life by delivering high quality physical education and sport opportunities.

They work to:

  • give every child a sporting start in life through high quality PE and sport in primary schools;
  • ensure all young people have a sporting chance by developing opportunities for those with special educational needs and disabilities; and
  • support all young people to achieve their sporting best in school and their personal best in life.

The Youth Sport Trust’s values, which are built on trust, integrity, working in partnership and responsibility, run across all of our work – be that with schools, corporate partners, government, sporting organisations and, most importantly, young people.

The Quality Mark is recognition of the high quality PE, physical activity, school sport and clubs that we deliver at Bovington Primary School. A huge thanks to all of the staff involved who organise and lead our sport clubs and P.E activities.

Active Dorset School Games Quality Mark

October 2016

Every year our school works hard to ensure our children have the best opportunities to take part in three different levels of sports events and competitions: level 1 is in school; level 2 is between schools; and level 3 is county wide competition. Part of our Sport Premium Funding is put toward a membership in the Purbeck Education Partnership and the Active Dorset School Games that arrange these events.

The School Games Mark is a Government led awards scheme launched in 2012 to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community.

We are very pleased to announce that for the years 2014–15 and 2015-16, Bovington Primary School was able to achieve the Bronze Quality Mark! Although for a school of our size this is a great achievement, Silver is in our sights and we are more determined than ever to ensure that P.E, healthy active lifestyles, and participation in events is a key feature of Bovington Primary School sport.
