" On Friday 15th June, children across the country will be uniting together to wear green for Grenfell. It has been a year since the disaster at Grenfell tower block in London where 71 people lost their lives. Not only will the nation pause to remember those who perished in the fire, but the honour the emergency services, first responders and ordinary people of the community who came together to help in any way they could a year ago on Thursday.
Mr Winthorpe gave an assembly on Monday to explain to the children why they will be wearing green on Friday, to highlight the importance of fire safety and awareness and how a local community pulled together in a time of crisis.
This is a government supported event, organised by Grenfell United, to celebrate the spirit of unity and collaboration and we ask the community of Bovington Primary to share in this spirit and show your support by wearing green on Friday.
Many thanks and check back here on Friday to see photos of #greenforgrenfell"
