Weekly Computing lessons are taught as part of a carousel across year groups. They are supported by a technical expert to ensure high quality subject knowledge.
Children are taught to understand and apply the fundamental principles and concepts of computer science; analyse problems in computational terms, and have practical experience of writing computer programs in order to solve such problems; evaluate and apply information technology, including new or unfamiliar technologies, analytically to solve problems; and be responsible, competent, confident and creative users of information and communication technology. Children are assessed against National Curriculum age related expectations.
Resources include Scratch, Python, Minecraft and Raspberry Pi for the older children. An emphasis on safe internet use is integral to lessons. Children have access to J2E - a creative and fun online learning platform.
