Thursday 11th July - French Day - French themed mufti Day

Art Week 2018

As part of Purbeck Arts Week we exhibited a number of children's piece of art at Rollington Barn. There is also a  display of our day with Fran Quinlan where we created willow sculptures now hanging in the corridor  leading to the hall. Purbeck Arts week is on from the 28 May to the 10 June: still plenty of time to go and see our pieces of art.

Purbeck Arts Week.

On Thursday the day started with some movement and dance for Year 5 who, with the support of an artist, went onto weave and develop some abstract willow sculptures inspired by Kandinsky.

These were displayed, along with artwork from across the school on the theme of movement and it was fantastic to see so many parents and carers come to our Arts Café and enjoy and comment upon the wonderful exhibition of art produced for PAW.

Exhibitions like this are a real treat and show another side of our pupils’ abilities and when all this art is collected in the school hall it was quite inspirational. The children and staff really appreciated all the visitors to the exhibitions and the positive comments made.

I am proud of the incredible art work that the children produced- well done to everyone!
